0 CommentsAguascalientes, already subject of a post here, is well-known in Mexico for hosting the largest folk and cultural event in the country, the SAN MARCOS FAIR (FERIA DE SAN MARCOS). During three weeks between April and May, the city goes through a makeover to welcome over 7 million visitors, in existing or specially-built places for the event which has been taking place for more than 180 years.
0 CommentsDay of the Dead (Día de Los Muertos), celebrated on November 2nd, is one of the most traditional Mexican parties. Its origin dates back to pre-Hispanic period, when the Maya and Mexicas already celebrated the dead with rituals using conserved skulls from their deceased ancestors. The festivity has been declared as Intangible Culture Heritage of Humanity by Unesco, and is a time to honor the life of those who are not here anymore, although it is not necessarily a sad moment. In fact, it is fun and there is even singing.

3 CommentsSarasota is a beautiful tourist destination with great beaches and leisure options. However, as in every American city, you do nothing without a car and I was tired of driving and parking. So, I decided to take a bus or taxi – which did not work out well. 1 CommentsAbout one-hour flight away from Mexico City, Aguascalientes, capital of the smallest state in the country has much more than what the name suggests. The origin dates back almost 500 years ago with the discovery of hot springs and reserves of gold and silver. If nowadays the hot springs are no longer a tourist attraction, the city still counts on its architecture, its people with sweet accent and the typical food, some of the main things that travelers look for.
11 CommentsBeing in Los Angeles, even if it is for the first time, is like reliving moments you saw in movies, with a different emotion. It is like you have been there before. There were times I felt I was in Chips, The Towering Inferno or Earthquake, Charlie's Angels, among others.
