I need to go to London more times to write a good text. I want to go back in spring to enjoy the parks, in august for summer sales or any other time of the year to know what I missed.I intend to go to the theater, I was drooling over those billboards everywhere. What I liked most was the harmony of old-fashioned and hypermodern, traditional and trendy.

London humidity

Cold, humid days and soft rain. Typical London winter. A good warm coat with a hood played the trick, and the rain did not stop me. There were moments in which I thought I was in a suspense movie, the city is full of alleys, bridges, dead-end streets that give you that creepy feeling. One evening, walking by the Thames, we heard some sax (suspense music) and we went under a bridge, no one there and the sound was getting louder. Then, there is a light and the silhouette of a street musician and his instrument. We came out from under the bridge, people start to appear and the sensation is gone. I just loved it!

Most museums have free pass everyday. We visited museums, fairs and tourist points outdoors. Lunch was Chinese food or some frozen meal from the supermarket that we made at the hostel (Indian food). The typical dish is tasteless fish and chips, Chinese food was better and cheaper. We got the winter sales and I saw designer clothes and quality products for a low price. I should have some money saved for this, and I will next time.

We stayed in the best place to know the main tourist points in a ray of 15 km on foot, no transportation needed. Too much, you think? We are used to walking, it is how you really know a city. As we had few days, we left what was too far for our next visit.

TOME NOTA

Take a walk on TRAFALGAR SQUARE, LEICESTER SQUARE, OXFORD STREET and by the Thames – both sides, at day and night time. Cross MILENIUM BRIDGE and go inside SAINT PAUL CATHEDRAL. Spend as much time as you can at BRITISH MUSEUM, NATIONAL GALLERY, VICTORIA E ALBERT MUSEUM and TATE MODERN, among many others we did not have the opportunity to visit.

Check out the stores and restaurants at CONVENT GARDEN and CARNABY STREET. Eat for a few bucks in CHINATOWN. Drink lots of pints at the pub of your choice, especially in SOHO.
