Islands in Lake TITICACA (navigable lake with the highest altitude in the world, 3827m), made of totora reeds. Very old communities live there and use totora as food, house, boats and handicrafts. The funny thing is that when families have an argument, they draw an imaginary line on the island and each group stays on one half.  We had a boat trip around the lake and stopped in 2 islands of Uros. We rode a totora boat, which is made of this plant. The view was breathtaking, a sunset-full moon duet.

However, the day was exhausting: we left Cusco early and got the bus to Puno, the view is spectacular and changes along the way. There is much poverty and we saw many women working; they are quite strong, they do men's work like agriculture and animal raising, besides taking care of the kids, carrying them in bags on their back. At all rivers, there they were, washing the clothes and surrounded by children.

We arrived early in the afternoon, we bought the boat trip to Titicaca at the bus station and the ticket to travel all night to Arequipa. Puno is in a small detour on the way to Arequipa and is worth knowing. These islands are unique.

In the evening we walked in PLAZA DE ARMAS and had dinner at HUANCHACO, with typical decoration and a wonderful trout from lake Titicaca.
